Why do people follow demonstrably False Prophets?
by WireRider inwhy does everyone just turn a blind eye to the false teachings of the watchtower?
the bible warns us many times and in many ways not to follow false prophets - including the lake of fire.
fundamentally why do the followers of the watchtower just ignore the very bible they claim to live by?.

I'm thinking that people can't live without being what told to do or can't live without wanting to belong to something. -

Too Much Discontent in the Congregation Part 3
by Simon Templar innow, 80-85 years later, we are still here.
if i was to do the counsel with a brother who had this much experience, i would have just thanked him for doing the talk, and marked him good on the point.
this is a good way to get money though.

Other Religious Groups Critical of Higher Education
by Wild_Thing ini was reading an essay online about how witnesses are critical of higher education and discourage it.
the editor's note said there are other conservative religious groups that hold the same view towards education.. there are?
do any of you know of any religious group that works as hard as the jws at keeping their members stupid?.

Education induces one to think independently. That's why the Borg hates higher education so much. There are so many accounts of JW's who go to University/College and becoming Atheists or Evolutionists. Teachings which are contrary to Borg teachings. -

Cults have a way of making people feel unique. The JW's do the same. Watching those broadcasts, you wonder if many more JW's are doubting with how strange those act, always asking for money and such. -

Hi Mandy97 and Welcome!!
I feel your concern about being lost!! It's a helpless feeling I admit that. But there has always been war, terrorism right on through the past centuries, or even millennia. There is solace in the fact that there are a lot my meek, good people on this planet, than evil, I think or hope so.
Yeah, try to focus on the good, peaceful things that humankind does or aims to do. Personally, I focus on what kind things mankind has done or is doing to get through times when terrorism is paramount.
Cheers and God Bless.

Another reason why people may ''cling'' to false prophets is that of a ''Stockholm syndrome'' like situation. After believing in something for decades and decades, you have to, YOU HAVE to!!! You have no choice but other to agree and believe in something no matter how out of whack it seems, because in a way the human mind cannot accept harsh reality, because the Truth about something can be totally devastating!!
People sometimes have to rely on people who mentally abuse or mentally manipulate them!!

What is the org’s view on extraterrestrial life?
by My Name is of No Consequence ini am sure that it has been discussed before.
but just out of curiosity, what is the orgs view on extraterrestrial life?
the org certainly agrees that the universe is infinitely large.

I just thought of something if the ''Disclosure Project'' comes to fruition and World Governments admit ''Disclosure''.
I could see a few things happening with the rank and file
1) The Borg will publish a series of broadcasts and WT's about Disclosure being one of Satan's tools to trick the JW's about Universal Sovereignty. Many, Many JW's will accept the Borg's explanation.
2) Quite a few JW's will just accept the fact that ''we are not alone in the Universe'' and that we are just kind of a little ''Bay'' in an immense Universe.
3) A few would admit '' Well the bible doesn't say anything about God NOT creating life elsewhere, so let's accept the fact about ET life now!""
4) I could see a few JW's going off the deep and perhaps committing suicide. This group being amongst the 40-50 years group being in the Borg, after realizing being ''lied'' to for decades, and decades.

I agree 100% of what you say. Imagine JW's who have invested 45-50plus years of their lives into the Borg. The CANNOT open their eyes now. After investing their lives into pretty much all of their adult lives, they cannot be reasoned with otherwise, no matter how much evidence is shown to them about the Borg. They cannot or just don't want to be told otherwise!!!!! That's just the way it is.

The Borg is 100% in disagreement against ET life!! Perhaps the strongest argument the Borg has against ET life is that of Universal Sovereignty. Any over righteous JW will adamantly argue their point of ''Why would Jehovah send down his firstborn and Mighty Son Jesus to die for imperfect mankind?''
Secondly, should/when the governments of the world ever, ever, ever announce Disclosure of Alien Life, I firmly believe the WTBS has a secret agenda to tell the rank and file something along the lines of ''It's Satan and his Demons trying to deceive us''. Some crafty under their sleeve agenda to keep the rank and file in line.

1914—The Turning Point in History - Really?
by berrygerry in1914the turning point in history.
30 from the human standpoint, the world troubles and global wars foretold in the bible were far from the thinking of the pre-1914 world.

1914 is over 100years on now. That year is seeming to become less and less significant all the time.
In hind site, I'll have to say there was no actual year to pinpoint, but a series of years or a decade in time which seems significant.
I'd have to say the ''Industrial Revolution'' with the onset of the Cold War, and the end of the Cold War were the most significant periods in History.
